On August 14, 2026, at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, Ravensburger made several major announcements about the future of Disney Lorcana TCG. More than 800 fans attended the panel, hosted by Krystina Arielle, to learn about what’s coming next for the game.
A digital game finally confirmed
The biggest surprise of the night came at the very end of the presentation: Ravensburger confirmed that a digital version of Disney Lorcana TCG, playable on desktop and mobile, is officially in development. No release date has been shared yet, but fans can already sign up at DisneyLorcana.com/digital to be among the first to know when public testing begins.
Elaine Chase, Head of TCGs at Ravensburger, said the goal is to let as many Disney fans as possible enjoy the game’s artwork and storytelling, wherever they are.
Cosmic Quest and what’s next for sets
A first look at the upcoming set Cosmic Quest was revealed, with a release planned for spring 2027. The previously announced Into the Inkdark set will arrive in the first quarter of 2027.
Disney Lorcana TCG heads to the parks and the seas
Ravensburger confirmed that Disney Lorcana TCG will be featured at the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, with exclusive promotional cards and purchase gifts available only at the event. The game, including its popular Collection Quests, will also expand across the entire Disney Cruise Line fleet starting in 2027.
Collector boosters and the new “Illustrious” rarity
Collectors have plenty to look forward to with the debut of Collector boosters, packed with 12 premium foil cards featuring some of the rarest cards in the game. A brand-new rarity called Illustrious will debut in these boosters: only 23 serialized copies of each Illustrious card will be printed per set. The first Illustrious card revealed was Maleficent – Biding Her Time, illustrated by Kendall Hale, a nod to the very first Disney Lorcana TCG card revealed at D23 back in 2022. Collector boosters will launch alongside the Into the Inkdark set in the first quarter of 2027.
New books for fans
The panel also gave fans a first look at Disney Lorcana TCG – A Visual Guide Through the Magical Realm, coming in 2027. D23 was also the first place fans could get their hands on Quest of Wonders: An Illumineer’s Lorebook, a unique in-world book designed as an artifact straight from the world of the game.
Curator’s Collection: Beauty and the Beast Edition
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast, Ravensburger will launch the Curator’s Collection: Beauty and the Beast Edition in October at select Disney locations, featuring new artwork for six fan-favorite Glimmers from the film, including Gaston and Belle.
Disney Lorcana Challenge 2026-2027
Co-creator Ryan Miller also shared that the Disney Lorcana Challenge 2026-2027 program is expanding, with more events planned to meet demand. A first official tournament was held at D23, with 128 players competing for the very first invitation to the North American Challenge. The finals, the Disney Lorcana D23 Challenge Championship Qualifier (CCQ), streamed live on Twitch on Saturday, August 15.
Disney Lorcana TCG recently celebrated its third anniversary, with 13 sets released, more than 3,000 unique cards, and 2.8 billion cards sold worldwide.
